My teaching style is clear and succinct. I fully explain each technique and my thinking around it, but you won't sit through hours of chatter.
Work at your own pace to make a collection of nature-inspired artworks.
In this course, you will...
... create a collection of artworks using botanical elements and images to reflect your relationship with nature.
Techniques taught:
- preparing textured surfaces with found papers, fabric, gesso, images, inks, pressed flowers, texture paste
- painting on fabric
- imprinting into clay
- layered fabric collages
- printing on fabric and tissue
- adding hand stitch
The step-by-step video tuition teaches my techniques that you can use in numerous ways!
In 'Conversation with Nature', I encourage you to slow down and notice the beauty that can be found all around you in nature... even in plants and weeds that, at first glance, seem unremarkable. By looking closely at the seed heads, leaves and flowers, we notice the variety of shades and shapes, which are incredible. We will gather plants and photograph them, press them, take prints from them and collage with them.
I teach a variety of techniques to use natural elements in a gorgeous collection of artworks, stored in a container to create a trove of mementos that remind you of your time spent in nature. The techniques are incredibly flexible; whilst I've used them to make individual pieces of art, they could equally be used for art journal pages or in a host of other ways!
"There is so much in this course. Every module is full of inspiration and beautiful creations. The videos and explanations are very clear, the materials required are easily obtainable and the techniques are not complicated. The end results, however, are absolutely enchanting and the opportunities to apply the concepts to your own projects are endless. Thank you Jane!"
